Halloween is a fun time for kids, with the excitement of decorating, dressing up and of course getting all that candy. This Halloween make it an especially fun time, by sitting down with the whole family and making these fun filled crafts they I am sure everyone will enjoy.
Project One: Outdoor Cat Lantern
Materials Needed:
Glue (You will need to dilute with water)
Scissors
2 large beads
Pencil
Yarn or Cord
Paintbrush
Glass jar
Black Construction Paper
Orange and yellow tissue paper cut in stripes
1. Take strips of tissue paper and glue all around glass jar.
2. Then take the black paper and fold in half and draw half of a cat's face. Then cut around the outline of the cat to make full face. Cut out eyes, nose, mouth and whiskers. Make two pupils for the eyes.
3. Take your glass jar and glue the cat's face on. Take your string and tie a knot in one-end and place beads on it. Then take your string and tie it around the jar making handles for the jar.
4. Now you’re ready to take your lantern outside and place a tea light inside. Use the string handle to carry or hang in a tree.
Ask an adult to light candle for you.
Halloween Slinky Skeleton
Material Needed:
2 large white poster boards
Paper fasteners
White wax crayon
Yarn or Thread
Black Paint
Yarn needle
Paintbrush
Pencil
Scissors
First thing you will need to do is draw body parts in pencil on poster board. You will need to draw one head, one body, four arm parts, two hands, four leg parts and two feet. Once they are drawn cut them out. Then draw the outlines of bones and eye sockets, then color in with white crayon. Next paint all the pieces with black paint, the white crayon will not hold the paint so the bones will show through the paint. Lay all your parts out and assemble skeleton by taking paper fasteners and fastening at joints. When all fasteners are in take your yarn needle and thread with yarn to attach a yarn loop to hang your skeleton.
How to Make a Pumpkin Trick or Treat Bag
Materials Needed:
Orange crepe paper
Green crepe paper
Black crepe paper
2 pieces yarn
4 pcs of Tape
First fold the orange paper in equal halves, glue the sides together, and do not glue top. Draw two sets of leaves on green paper and cut out. Glue the leaves to the top edges of the bag. Then take your black paper and cut out the eyes, nose and mouth of your pumpkin, and glue on front. Then take your yarn and attack to top of bag for your handle.
How to make a Jack-o-Latern
Materials Needed:
Pumpkin
Knife
Large spoon
Candle any color
Take pumpkin and cut out large hole in top. Then take large spoon and clean all the insides out. With an adults help cut out eyes nose and mouth. Then place candle and light.
These are all fun filled crafts for the whole family and will bring many hours of fun.
